Project CARS 3 to Be Delisted from Digital Stores This August

In a move that's becoming all too common in the gaming industry, Bandai Namco has announced that Project CARS 3, the 2020 racing simulator, will soon be pulled from digital storefronts. The delisting is set for August 24, 2025, at 23:59 UTC, after which the game and its DLC will no longer be available for purchase.

This follows similar fates for its predecessors, Project CARS and Project CARS 2, which were delisted in previous years due to expiring car and track licenses. Released in August 2020 by developer Slightly Mad Studios (now part of Codemasters under EA), Project CARS 3 shifted toward a more accessible racing experience compared to the hardcore simulation of earlier entries. It features over 200 cars, customizable upgrades, a robust career mode, and multiplayer options, appealing to both casual drivers and sim enthusiasts. Despite mixed reviews for its departure from pure realism, the game has maintained a dedicated player base, especially for its online racing components. For those who already own the game digitally, there's good news: it will remain in your library for redownloading, and all purchased DLC will continue to function.

However, the online servers, which power multiplayer races and community features, are scheduled to shut down on February 24, 2026.

After that date, players will be limited to offline modes only. The delisting is likely tied to the expiration of licensing agreements with real-world car manufacturers and racing circuits, a recurring issue in the genre that has affected titles like Forza Horizon and Gran Turismo in the past.

Bandai Namco has urged fans to grab the game before it's gone, noting that regional sale end times may vary slightly. If you're a racing fan who hasn't yet experienced Project CARS 3's blend of arcade fun and sim depth, now's the time to act. With the clock ticking down to August 24, this could be your last chance to add it to your collection legally. For more details, check the official store pages on platforms like Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox.
